6th Healthy Seixal Forum |

The 6th edition of the Healthy Seixal Forum will take place on May 14-15th, at the Municipal Auditorium of the Seixal Cultural Forum. "Saúde da comunidade: o nosso compromisso" (Our Goal: Community Health) is the starting theme for this meeting, which aims to help revisit the idea of urban health promotion, to monitor the implementation of the Health Development Plan, to promote the sharing of experiences and projects which encourage health and quality of life, and to reinforce the partnership network, encouraging the development of municipal structures. |

The Healthy Seixal Forum is a fundamental organ of the Healthy Seixal Project and of the Seixal City Health Development Plan. It comprises all structures based on the municipality or developing their activities here, and which have committed to the project’s principles.
The opening session will be held by Ana Jorge, Minister for Health, Pedro Marques, Secretary of State for Social Security, Alfredo Monteiro, Mayor of Seixal and President of the Portuguese Healthy Cities Network, Joaquim Judas, Municipal Assembly President for the Municipality of Seixal, and Agis Tsouros, European Director of the WHO Healthy Cities Project. |

Considering the current outbreak of the swine flu and the importance of discussing this issue in terms of public health, we have invited Dr. António Tavares, Co-ordinator of the Environment Health Department of the Instituto Nacional de Saúde Dr. Ricardo Jorge, to be a part of the VI Healthy Seixal Forum; he will moderate the debate regarding this issue, at the Plenary Session of May 15th, between 12.30h and 13h. |
