Seixal maintains the presidency of the Healthy Cities Portuguese Network
The City Council of Seixal will assure the presidency and the technical coordination of the Healthy Cities Portuguese Network until 2007. This was a decision approved by unanimity at the Network Intermunicipal Assembly, on the 12th of January 2006.
It was still approved, during this same meeting, the adhesion of two more Municipalities: Vila Franca de Xira and Miranda do Corvo.
What is the Healthy Cities Project?
The Healthy Cities Project is an international project of long term development, which aims to put health high on the agenda of the decision – makers of the European cities and to promote local strategies for health and development, based on the principles and goals of the strategy of Health for All on the 21st Century and of the Local Agenda 21.
How many and what are he Municipalities of the Healthy Cities Portuguese Network?
Currently, there are 18 Municipalities in the Portuguese Network: Amadora, Bragança, Cabeçeiras de Basto, Lisboa, Loures, Lourinhã, Montijo, Odivelas, Oeiras, Palmela, Resende, Seixal, Serpa, Setúbal, Torres Vedras, Viana do castelo, Vila Franca de Xira and Miranda do Corvo. |
