The 2nd Jornadas da Baía were held on April 7th 2000, and were aimed at the population of Seixal. Animation and sociability activities were developed, such as interactive performance at the commuting train stations of Fertagus and boat stations of Transtejo, during "rush hour". People were also given informative leaflets about "Health and the Bay", containing information on the goals of this initiative and the potentialities of the Bay for the promotion of health.

Some of the material held out was produced in co-operation with the Municipality School Establishments, especially the elementary schools.

There were also sport activities, especially canoeing, under the motto "Come and Try Canoeing at the Bay". These activities were aimed especially at the Educational Community, since an effort was made to give the elementary school children the opportunity to practice this sport, with the support and under the supervision of the Municipality’s nautical associations. Around 300 children from 30 Municipality school establishments took part in this initiative.
